Fasenra is a medication for adults with severe eosinophilic asthma, a specific type where certain white blood cells (eosinophils) cause airway inflammation. It's used when standard treatments like strong inhaled steroids and long-acting inhalers aren't adequately controlling symptoms. Fasenra works by reducing these inflammatory cells, improving breathing and asthma control. It's not a first-line treatment, but rather an additional therapy when other options aren't sufficiently effective.
FASENRA is used in the treatment of patients with severe asthma aged 12 years and older, and with an eosinophiic phenotype.
