About GAMMAGARD LIQUID Infusion Therapy

GAMMAGARD LIQUID is a ready-to-use liquid medicine that contains immunoglobulin G, or IgG, antibodies, which protect the body against infection, that temporarily increases the amount of antibodies in your body to fight germs that can make you sick.

Condition treated by this therapy

Gammagard is a medication that treats a number of conditions, including:

Primary immunodeficiency (PI): A replacement therapy for PI in patients two years and older.
Multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN): A maintenance therapy to improve muscle strength and disability in adults.
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP): A therapy to improve neuromuscular disability and impairment in adults.
Idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP): Used to increase platelets (blood clotting cells).
Kawasaki syndrome: Used to prevent aneurysm caused by a weakening of the main artery in the heart.

What to Expect During GAMMAGARD Infusion Therapy

Before the infusion

Bring a book, music player, or other materials to keep yourself occupied during the infusion
We will have you sign a consent form to ensure you are informed of the potential risks of your treatment
The nurse practitioner will place the IV catheter in the vein
During the infusion
Relax and sit comfortably
Let the nurse know if you feel uncomfortable at any time
After the infusion
Report any side effects to your doctor or medical team
