About PROLASTIN-C LIQUID® Infusion Therapy
PROLASTIN-C LIQUID® is a concentrated form of the protein alpha1 antitrypsin that is purified from human plasma, the fluid part of your blood. It is an alpha1-proteinase inhibitor. It works by replacing the missing alpha-1 antitypsin protein that your body doesn't make enough of, which normally protects your lungs from damage by neutralizing harmful enzymes like neutrophil elastase that can destroy lung tissue.

Condition treated by this therapy
Alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency (alpha-1), which is a rare genetic disease often called "genetic COPD" because it can be passed down through genetics. PROLASTIN-C LIQUID® is used specifically in adults with emphysema cause by severe hereditary alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

PROLASTIN-C LIQUID® Price
The cost of prescription medications can vary depending on your insurance coverage. If you're concerned about the price of your medication:
- Contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist about lower-cost alternatives
- Check with the drug manufacturer about financial assistance programs
- Explore patient assistance options if you're uninsured or underinsured
Remember, many resources exist to help patients access necessary medications. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you're struggling with medication costs. No patient should go without necessary treatment due to financial limitations. If you have questions about financial assistance opportunities, contact a member of our Violet Health team.
