RITUXAN® Infusion Therapy

About RITUXAN® Infusion Therapy
RITUXAN® (rituximab) is a type of antibody therapy that can be used alone or with chemotherapy. They work in different ways to find and attack the cells where cancer starts.

Condition treated by this therapy
It is used to treat certain types of cancer like non-Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It is also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, granulomatosis with polyangiitis, microscopic polyangiitis, and pemphigus vulgaris.

RITUXAN® Price
The cost of prescription medications can vary depending on your insurance coverage. If you're concerned about the price of your medication:
- Contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist about lower-cost alternatives
- Check with the drug manufacturer about financial assistance programs
- Explore patient assistance options if you're uninsured or underinsured
Remember, many resources exist to help patients access necessary medications. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you're struggling with medication costs. No patient should go without necessary treatment due to financial limitations. If you have questions about financial assistance opportunities, contact a member of our Violet Health team.
What to Expect During RITUXAN® Infusion Therapy
The first infusion of RITUXAN® is given slowly.
Your first treatment may take 4 to 6 hours or more. If you have an infusion-related reaction, your infusion will be slowed or stopped.
Your next infusions should take less time.
Starting with the second treatment cycle, your infusions will generally take between 3 and 4 hours. Previously untreated follicular lymphoma and DLBCL patients who do not have a serious infusion-related reaction during initial treatment may be able to receive follow-up infusions that last only 90 minutes. Not all patients will be able to receive a faster infusion.
